jOB INFO:
This job required a three part restoration system to bring back the life to an aged, weathered deck and stairwell that had become unsafe.
Here's what occurred:

1. SURING UP THE STRUCTURE. Over the years all the nails used in the initial construction had popped, causing additional movement creating an unsafe feeling. Ever Green went through the entire structures surface and sides resetting all nail pops, and replacing or adding a large percentage. Additionally, a new non-pressure treated 4"x4" (Ever Green's policy is to use non-treated wood for a healthy structure and sustainable environment.) with hex bolts was attached to the deck where the stairwell joined.

2. REPLACING DRY ROT. As you can see from the finger image below, the rot was deep, and extensive, throughout multiple sections of the deck. Close to 200 feet of deck and railings were replaced to remove all rotted sections, using non-pressure treated 2"x6" fir to match the existing deck. These pieces are visually obvious from our photos below.

3. SEALING THE DECK. This last step was an option in our contract which Ever Green offered to the client as a means of protecting their investment for years to come, as well as adding a cohesive aesthetic to the overall deck. A 3/2 Staining system using TimberproUV Stain (A Low VOC water-based stain.) was applied. Three coats of stain with dry time between were applied on the deck and railings surfaces which receive the most weather, and two coats were applied to the railings.
